Group Parenting Course

Childhood is a beautiful time in the human journey where little minds blossom in nurturing environments, learn with thoughtful guidance, and contribute to their world with enthusiastic innocence. Although children do not come with a parenting manual at their time of birth ( that would be nice), there are parenting philosophies that can guide caregivers and systems to show up lovingly and prepared in their children’s lives. One such renowned philosophy, Positive Discipline, was developed by Dr Jane Nelson based on Adlerian psychological principles of responsiveness, respect, and resourcefulness.

The 5 Tenets of Positive Discipline:

  • Help children feel a sense of connection and belonging

  • Teaches a kind and firm approach to develop flexibility and resilience

  • Focuses on long-term effectiveness, considering what the child thinks, feels, learns, and decides about themselves and their world

  • Teaches important social and life skills such as respect, concern for others, problem-solving, communication, and cooperation, as well as the skills to contribute to home, school, and the larger community

  • Invites children to discover how capable they are
